Doogie and Bella are our two Shetland Ponies. Rambo and Lucy came to us as lambs and have now grown into adorable and friendly sheep.

Equestrian Interest: Harness racing is a regular feature in towns and villages throughout Ceredigion during the summer months with Tregaron Trotting Club Harness Races rated amongst Wales's most popular rural grass track meetings. Rhyd-y-Groes is the perfect venue for Guests visiting The Lampeter Showground, as Talsarn is only a couple of miles away. There are also plenty of quiet bridle paths locally.

Those guests who enjoy cycling may wish to experience The Ystwyth Trail which is now officially open. Substantial sections of the Ystwyth Trail follow the track of the old Great Western railway line. The entire route is suitable for walkers. Substantial sections are also suitable for horse riding.

Award Winning Beaches: Visit the beautiful coastline with its crystal blue waters and marine life. See the Bottle-nosed Dolphins and Grey Seals in nearby New Quay. Or just laze on the sandy beach. New Quay was home to Dylan Thomas during his most productive writing period. Follow the Dylan Thomas' dearest trails around the Ceredigion localities. Aberaeron with its quaint shops, famous Honey Ice Cream and delicious Fish 'n' Chips is just a few minutes drive away.

Why not visit the local Gold Mines - enjoy panning for Gold.
Other local attractions include: Fantasy Farm Park, Llain Activity Centree, Paintballing and Karting

Some books we would recommend on the local area.

Local fishing, walks, cycling, riding, golf courses, Water Colour Painting and local markets will also keep you amused. Lampeter with its University and Aberystwyth with its famous Library of Wales are also within easy reach. All the necessary information on places to visit can be found in the lobby and guest rooms, and of course we shall be only too pleased to help if we can.
